Job Title    Job Description
JOB COACH – MATERIAL RECOVERY FACILITY

Definition:

Under the direction of the Program Manager will supervise client workers and provide case management counseling and training to such clients.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid California Driver License with acceptable driving record
  • Proof of Vehicle insurance coverage
  • Current T.B. clearance
  • CPR-First Aid certification is desirable
  • Background check for Criminal Identification is required through the Department of Justice
  • Ability to relate to developmentally disabled adults, preferably demonstrated through previous work or volunteer experience is desirable

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing case management services to an assigned group of clients per agency procedures.
  • Must be able to read and write simple case notes in English.
  • Consistently sort through recyclable materials while guiding individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to also sort through recycable materials.
  • Responsible for completing all required documentation and reports per agency procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Must be available to work any shift assigned.
  • Must be able to adapt to other positions in the Recycling Department.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day and occasionally work in the sun.
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation:

  • Full time position

MATERIAL HANDLIER – MATERIAL HANDLING FACILITY

DEFINITION:

  • Must have a valid California Driver License with a good driving record and insurance coverage.
  • T.B. clearance will be required.

Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Write simple case notes.  Be able to present information to clients, staff and supervisors.

Mathematical Skills – Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide

Reasoning Ability –Ability to use common sense to carry out instructions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for providing case management services to an assigned group of clients per agency procedures.
  • Supervises clients in small groups of one to eight in work training programs.
  • Be able to stand for 8 hours a day and occasionally work in the sun.
  • Consistently sort through recyclable materials while teaching clients to do the same.
  • Encourage clients to develop appropriate socialization and work ethics.
  • Encourages good communication skills.
  • Responsible for completing all required documentation and reports per agency procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Attend all required meeting and services.
  • Train on MRF recycling line, fork-lift and front end loader.
  • Must be available to work any shift assigned.

COMPENSATION

  • Full time

MECHANIC’S HELPER

Under the direction of the BARC Maintenance Shop Supervisor, shall assist the senior mechanic in the maintenance and mechanical repair of BARC vehicles and other fuel powered equipment

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Valid California Class C driver license with proof of insurance
  • Current TB clearance
  • Background check for Criminal Identification required through Department of Justice
  • First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Good language, math and computer skills
  • Frequently lift up to 25 pounds

Experience:

  • One year experience performing minor and/or major repairs on all components of each vehicle
  • Experience maintaining records as required for maintenance and repair operations
  • Must have working knowledge and experience with electronic tuning and diagnostic equipment

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist maintenance and repairs on BARC vehicles and equipment
  • Be able to interpret written or printed directions
  • Complete all information required on repair orders
  • Schedule maintenance and repair functions in a manner that interferes the least with bus and vehicle operations
  • Give consistent delivery of superior customer service

Compensation:
